Nagiyev R.Y., Head of the Institute of Space Research of Natural Resources of the National Aerospace Agency, candidate of agricultural sciences.
Mukhtar Rzaguli oglu Abduyev, which kin came out from Bum village of Gabala region, was born in 1926 in the village Uchgovag of Agdash region in the family of gardener Rzakulubek Abdubek oglu.
In 1941 M.R.Abduyev finished secondary school in Agdash region and in 1944 graduated from pedagogical college in Agdash, and in 1951 the Geology and Geography Faculty of Azerbaijan State University as a "geographer."
In 1951 M.R.Abduyev started his labor and scientific career as an assistant at the Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan SSR. In a short time among his colleagues, he showed himself business-like, educated and capable young professional. It is through these qualities, in the same Institute a year later under the leadership of a prominent soil scientist, correspondent member of USSR Academy of Sciences, academician of the Academy of Sciences V.R.Volobuyev, M.R.Abduyev begins research work dissertation on "Water soil dynamics of soils of eastern part of Shirvan steppe" as a graduate student.
M.R.Abduyev, summarizing the research of soil held in Shirvan steppe, and laboratory tests, defended his thesis in 1956, and in 1957 received the degree of "candidate of agricultural sciences."
In 1957 the Publishing House of the Academy of Sciences published a monograph M.R.Abduyev "Salinization of Shirvan steppe soils and measures to combat it."
Tirelessly continuing his research on the study of the irrigated lands of the republic during 10 years, summarizing the results of field studies, M.R.Abduyev defended his doctoral thesis in 1966 on "Soils with delluvial form of salinization and problems of its amelioration in Azerbaijan", and in 1967 he was conferred the scientific degree of "doctor of agricultural sciences."
Edited by Academician V.R.Volobuyev, Dr. of agricultural sciences, professor M.R.Abduyev had published in 1968 a book in Russian, "Soils with delluvial form of salinization and problems of its amelioration," and in 1977 "Fast reclamation of saline clay of Azerbaijan ".
In the monograph "Soil with deluvial form of salinization and problems of its amelioration" for the first time in the world M.R.Abduyev studies deluvial form of salt marshes, its features, conditions of formation, the penetration of salts in the soil, the origin of salts and other issues. In addition, in the book M.R.Abduyev shows the study of water-salt regime deluvial marshes of the east of Shirvan steppe and Siyazan Sumgait array and the Mil steppe, the results and methodology of scientific research conducted on these and other advanced areas.
In the monograph M.R.Abduyev "Accelerated reclamation of clay marshes of Azerbaijan", published in 1977, the methods of effective flushing of salts from saline with heavy texture, saline lands of the republic for usage for agricultural crops were shown.
During his scientific career M.R.Abduyev had published six monographs, over 130 scientific articles. During these years under his leadership 10 candidates of sciences and 1 PhD was trained.
M.R.Abduev, from 1954 until the last days of his creative life (1979) worked at the Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan in various positions: junior researcher, senior researcher, deputy director for science and head of the laboratory of "Soil reclamation ".
Work on the reclamation of saline lands held by the doctor of agricultural sciences, professor M.R.Abduyev, were highly appreciated by specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Land Reclamation and Water Economy of Azerbaijan. M.R.Abduev was recommended for prize named after V.V.Dokuchayev.
M.R.Abduev presented papers on reclamation of soils with deluvial form of salinity and other problems of soil science at the international congresses of soil scientists of the former USSR.
Mukhtar Abduyev loved nature. In connection with ongoing field studies, he had much time to spend outdoors. In addition to conducting complex research projects, he devoted free time to poetry.
In his book "My Mountain", published by M.R.Abduevey, in the poem "I would like to see" related to nature, he expressed his dream of a quick improvement of salt-washed marshes, which he often saw in some agricultural areas, with the following words:
On the white as cotton field
Vegetation yellowing, fading.
I want to see the salt flats, washed out of salt,
After all, it is difficult to recover it.
Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor M.R.Abduyev will live forever in the memory of people who knew him and friends as a scholar of high intellectual level, possessing the ability of scientific generalizations.
